Unified Ecommerce vs. Omnichannel

What is the recently mentioned Unified Ecommerce? What is the difference with Omnichannel? We tried to explain in this article.

Omnichannel and unified ecommerce are related to different aspects of e-commerce and are different concepts.

Omnichannel is a sales model in which customers can purchase from multiple channels (eg store, website, mobile application, etc.). This sales model allows customers to switch between different channels in the purchasing process and requires an integrated infrastructure to ensure these transitions are seamless.

Unified e-commerce On the other hand, an e-commerce business manages all sales channels through a single central infrastructure. This ensures customers have a consistent experience when switching between different channels and allows businesses to manage their sales and customer data in one place.

Omnichannel and unified ecommerce are strategies that both aim to improve the customer experience and require the integration of different sales channels. However, while omnichannel is a sales model experienced by more customers, unified ecommerce is more of an in-house operational model.
